About the apartments

Are the apartments safe?

The apartments are totally safe. They are located in new secure buildings with security lock system. The doors to access to the apartments are also equipped with a security system which works with key-cards. We provide two sets of key at your arrival. For additional safety, in case of losing a key-card, we will deactivate it immediately.  

Can we have parties in the apartment?

We have strict rules regarding this, as we do not allow any parties in the apartments at any time as the neighbors are mostly working people leaving in the buildings who need to get up early. We kindly ask our guests to please respect this, keep the noise level down in the stairwells, the apartments and surroundings and hold their celebrations in one of the many bars or clubs in Barcelona. Please, read house rules in next question. 

Do you have house rules to ask guests to follow and respect?

Here is an example of the rules we ask all our guests to please follow and respect during their stay in any of our apartments.

MYSPACE BARCELONA – HOUSE RULES

  1. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in this apartment.
  2. Please respect the neighbours. They are mostly working people who need to get up early so please keep the noise level down in the stairwells, the apartments and surroundings.  Parties are not allowed.

Quiet hours:  Monday - Friday 20:00 a 10:00  Saturday - Sunday 20:00 a 10:00

IMPORTANT: please note that my Space Barcelona has the right to evict your group, in case the neighbors complain about noise coming from the apartment you have rented. In that case, your deposit will NOT be returned.

  1. Please turn off the air-conditioning and lights every time you leave the apartment.
  2. Please lock the doors securely behind you and take only what you need for the day as there are professional pickpockets in most tourist areas.
  3. We provide you withsets of keys, in case you lose one, please let us know as soon as possible. The penalty for losing the keys is €100 per set.
  4. You are not allowed to accommodate more people in the apartment than the number of occupants in the booking.
  5. Towels are for in-house use only. Please do not take them to the beach.
  6. If there is a Terrace and/ or swimming pool: From 8pm to 10am you not allowed to use the terrace or swimming pool
  7. If you need us to go to your apartment, because you left the keys inside, this costs 60€ until 20:00; 80€ after 20:00 and 100€ after 00:00

Check-Out Rules

  1. The check out time is 11:00am unless otherwise agreed. Please be aware that if you stay longer than 11 am having agreed not to do so, we will charge you 80€ (fee for late check out until 14:00) or half a night (fee for late check out after 14:00 until 20:00) from your security deposit.
  2. You are also asked to do the washing up before you leave.
  3. Do not leave any rubbish in the apartment when you check out. There are recycling bins near every apartment.
  4. Please leave the sets of keys in the apartment when you check out on the table on the living room. 

 

Do all apartments have double beds?

All our apartments are equipped with at least one double bed and two or more single beds. This gives you freedom to make one or two more double beds but if you need only single beds in the apartment, you can request us all single beds and our management team will do their best to prepare your apartment as per your requirements (this depends on the availability and needs to be requested at least one week before arrival). Furthermore, in many of the apartments you will also find sofa-beds, single or double depending on the apartment. If you have any other request regarding the beds, please contact us. 

How to access swimming pool and parking?

Most of our apartments have access to a shared swimming pools and terraces. You may access the pool and terrace through elevator. In most of the apartments, you need to go to -1 floor via elevator and you will find stairs to the swimming pool and terrace. You will receive specific information about this during the check-in. 

Do you have apartments, which are suitable for family and large groups?

All our Barcelona apartments are 100% suitable for families and large groups. Most of the apartments are located in the same building so we are able to accommodate large business groups all together. We also offer extra services for families with kids such as baby cots and high chairs. 

I travel with children; do I get a special price?

Children under 2 years old will stay for free, from 2 years old they will be counted as an extra person. Please note, we offer special prices for kids for all our extra services as well as baby cot, high chairs and transfers with baby chairs. 

I travel with my pet, are there any special conditions?

Due to many people having allergies, we do not allow pets. You can request information before reservation of the apartment, but depending on the building and the size of the dog we might allow it for an extra cost. In case My Space Barcelona allows you to bring your pet, the client will be responsible for controlling the pet and will be liable for any damage caused. 

I would like to stay for several months, can you help me?

We offer long-term apartment rentals in Barcelona. We offer renewable long-term contracts for families, executives and students. You can select your dates and send us a request for the final price and availability of our long-term rental apartments. 

Is the apartment fully equipped, or do I need to bring some on my own?

All our apartments are fully equipped and furnished, which means that you will not have to bring any utensils. We provide bed sheets and two towels per tenant in all our apartments in Barcelona. However, these towels are meant to be used exclusively in the apartment and for personal use, never as a baize. In case you need beach towels, you will have to bring your own. We can also arrange additional towels upon request. There is a surcharge of 25€. We can also arrange baby cot and height chairs for 20€ / stay. We do not offer amenities such as shampoo and soap. 

Is there a minimum stay?

Normally there is a minimum of 3 nights. However, the minimum stay varies according to seasons and events during the year (high season, low seasons and special events in the city). 

I travel by car. What about the parking?

If you arrive by car, we can arrange parking for you. In most of our apartments, parking places are available in the same street or building you will be able to book the parking while doing your reservations.

Parking cost: 20€ / day / car.

Free parking in Barcelona city center is very hard to find. To find free parking, you can alternatively park at the outskirts of the city and take public transport or taxi to move around the center. 

Reservation process

Do I get a confirmation of my reservation?

Once the reservation is confirmed you will receive the confirmation email with all the information needed for your arrival and check-in process. This voucher will include all the details you need in order to get to the apartment, full address, balance of the booking, etc. Please note that you will have to present the confirmation voucher at check-in and a photocopy of the passport or ids of all the tenants (kids and babies included). 

Do you accept group bookings?

Yes, we accept group bookings: We have several apartments which accommodate up to 8 people each, so we can offer more than one apartment for large groups, all located in the same building or within walking distance in the same street. The reservation procedure is the same, however, you will have to make several reservations, one for each apartment. How do I book an apartment online?

When you have found an apartment you would like to book, click on “Book now”. You have to confirm your dates and click on “continue”. Then, select the number of people and click on “continue”, afterwards you have to select all the extra services you would want such as extra cleanings, parkings, transfers, gym, baby cot, high chair, etc. and “continue”. Complete all the information and continue.

Please, remember to verify your travel dates and reservation information, and to read through our Terms & Conditions before proceeding to payment. In order to proceed with the booking, you will have to pay a 30% pre-payment: this amount is calculated upon the total rent, and will have to pay in order to receive the final booking confirmation.

You need to pay the pre-payment by credit card via our secure server or request or bank details for a bank transfer. If payment by credit card is selected, your credit card details are required in order to proceed with the reservation. Please, double check that you have typed in the correct cardholder name, card number and expiration date.

Fields marked with ‘*’ are required in order to proceed with the reservation. Your credit card information will be not saved anywhere in our system, we are connected with real time payment processing system and they do the charge. This means that your information can only be exchanged between you and payment processor (TVP Virtual - Redsys), and that no third party can access this data.

To pay pre-payment by bank Transfer: if you do the payment by bank transfer (on request), please, be advised that this must completed within 24 hours (working days) of making this reservation or it may be subject to cancellation. Once you have made the transfer, you will have to email the transfer receipt to us to info@myspacebarcelona.com. After pressing “Confirmation Button”, please, verify your reservation information in order to make sure that the typed information is correct before proceeding. When pressing “Confirm”, you will receive a copy of the reservation from our system. Please, note this reservation has not been confirmed until you have received the final confirmation voucher. How do I search for an apartment?

You just have to introduce your check-in and check-out dates, the number of guests in the search bar on our main webpage and click on the “search” bottom. The website will show a list of all the apartments we have available during the dates requested. You would have to click on each apartment to open all the information and pictures of the apartments you are interested in. 

Do you have any other apartments apart from the ones listed on your site?

Sometimes we have new apartments that just come in and not yet been listed on the web site, but normally all of our apartments are on our web site. For further assistance, contact us at info@myspacebarcelona.com 

How far in advance should I book my apartment?

It depends on the time of the year you would like to come to Barcelona:

  • If you are coming during the high season, we always advice our clients to book as soon as possible since availability changes rapidly!
  • If you decide to come during the summer months, we advise you to book your accommodation by the end of January to the end of March, in order to ensure that you have more apartments to choose from.
  • If you decide to come over Christmas, we advise that you book your apartment by the end of September or mid-October for the above-mentioned reason. 

How much do I have to pay to book and apartment?

In order to confirm your reservation, we will charge a 30% prepayment of the total. This amount has to be paid by either credit card or by bank transfer prior to receiving the final confirmation voucher. The apartment requires a 30% pre-payment. The 70% remaining amount will be charged at the moment of check-in.

You also have the option of paying the total amount at once upon request, so we can provide our bank details or send you a link to do it online.

Once you arrive to the apartment you have two option to make the payment: you can pay by cash (in Euros) or by credit card. Please note that there is a 3% fee if you pay with credit card. 

I would like to extend my stay in the apartment, what do I do?

If you want to extend your stay you will only have to inform us by email about this as soon as possible. The possibility of extension is subject to availability, and you will have to pay the corresponding amount immediately. Your request for extension has not been confirmed until you received an updated confirmation voucher or new contract or confirmation email from us or by property owner. 

I would like to shorten my stay, is it possible?

If you want to shorten your stay, you will have to inform us about it as soon as possible.

Please, note the following:

  • Most of our apartments have a minimum stay of 3 nights. If you want to shorten your stay to only 2 nights, we will have to charge the third night. This is due to management costs related to the reservation.
  • During some major events, trade fairs and congresses taking place in Barcelona, there might be specific minimum stay and/or different prices. 

Which is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be communicated by email. No deposits paid to confirm bookings will be returned in case of cancellation.

If a customer cancels a reservation which has been already paid, the cancellation charge will increase as the start of the rental period gets closer:

  • Over 90 days before the booked arrival date: 25% of the total amount
  • 30-89 days before the booked arrival date: 50% of the total amount
  • Less than 30 days before the booked arrival date: 100% of the total amount.

During the dates of the Mobile World Congress, reservations are not refundable.

For the reasons mentioned above we recommend hiring a travel insurance that covers the charge in case of cancellation.

How do I go to the apartment from the Barcelona airport?

We have apartments located in several areas of Barcelona. You will find below a short description of the easiest way to each area:

From Barcelona-El Prat Airport:

         By taxi: 20-30 minutes, depending on the traffic

         By Bus and metro:  50 min

How does the public transport works in Barcelona?

Barcelona has a wide public transport network, which covers all the surface of Barcelona. There are different kinds of public transport in Barcelona:

-      Metro

-      Bus

-      Night Bus

-      Tramway

-      FGC (for larger distances)

-      Renfe (for larger distances, to other locations close to Barcelona)

 

All of our apartments in Barcelona are located very close, within walking distance, to public transport which makes it easier for you to visit Barcelona.

There are also Travel cards that you can buy at the underground stations which can be used on any public transport that the city offers. With these cards you can travel unlimitedly.

Payments / Prices

Do I get a discount for longer stays?

The initial price you see is the price for 2 people. Our system add 30€ for extra person per night. If you have decided to stay for long term or more than 7 nights, please contact us to help you to get good price from property owner. We do offer discounts for families, groups.

For stays longer than 31 nights (long-term rentals), please contact us via email for further information and special prices. 

Are there different prices for low, mid and high seasons?

Yes, the prices vary according to the season you decide to come to Barcelona.

Low Season: 

-January – February (except GSM Congress)

-November – December

Mid- Season:

-October

-March – April (except Easter week)

High Season:

-May – September

All special days and events will be considered as high seasons. 

Why is the security deposit required?

You will be asked for a security deposit by the property owner to ensure that the apartment has not been damaged in any way during the stay.

We ask for a pre-authorization of 300€ - 400€ by card. If the property remains in the exact condition in which the guests found it, we will refund back your deposit in within a week after your departure.

In case the security deposit was paid by cash, it will be returned by bank transfer in within two weeks after your departure. 

 When do I pay the remaining amount and security deposit?

The remaining amount (70%) has to be paid at the office in the moment of check-in. There are two options to make the payment: you can pay by cash (in Euros) or by credit card. Please note that there is a 3% fee if you pay with credit card. At this point, we do not accept checks.

We only accept Euros!

In case you want to pay for the pending amount before arrival you can do it with a bank transfer or through a link we would send you so you can do the payment online, please send us an email about this and we will assist you. 

Do I have to pay any taxes on top of the price?

All taxes are included in total price. No additional cost will be charged. The cleaning fee is included in the total of the rental price. It covers the cleaning of the apartment before and after your stay: you will have clean sheets and towels and toilet paper.

The apartment will be cleaned before and after your stay, which means that no cleaners come in at a certain time every morning.

However, you can request a cleaning service to clean the apartment during your stay, always subject to availability of our cleaning staff. The prices are:

-      Daily cleaning (sheets and toilet cleaning): 25€ / day

-      Complete cleaning: 60€ 7 day 

Is breakfast included in the rental price?

All our apartments are self-catered, fully equipped, which gives you the freedom to make your own meals with total privacy, feeling like home.

You will find plenty of shops, groceries, bakeries in the near vicinity of the apartments. 

Check-in / Check-out

At what time may I access the apartment?

Check-in time is from 3pm to 8pm. Depending on the availability, it may be ready before. If you want to enter to the apartment before 3pm, please let us know so we can prepare it for you. Early check-in has a surcharge of 40€. In case you arrive after 8 pm, the cost of the late check-in from 8pm to 11pm is 40€, and from 11 pm onwards 50€.

 

At what time may I leave the apartment?

Check-out time is until 11am. In case you are interested in leaving after 11am, please let us know the day before so we can check the availability.
