1 - Jardines de la Tamarita
The Jardines de la Tamarita are located in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district and were designed by Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí in 1918. It is worth strolling through these gardens and taking a break from the day and the stress of the city amidst flowers and classical statues.
2 - Air-raid shelters
During the Civil War, more than 1,300 air-raid shelters were built underground in Barcelona to protect the population. In the district of Gràcia, we find the one in the famous Plaça del Diamant with a capacity for 200 people. During the visits, visitors actively participate by playing the role of the people who hid in these shelters.
3 - Parque del Laberinto de Horta
The Parque del Laberinto de Horta is located in the Horta-Guinardó district, on the slopes of the Sierra de Collserola Natural Park. The park is considered a garden-museum and is full of neoclassical and romantic elements. Here you can lose yourself in the green labyrinths of dense vegetation.
4 - Castellcir Castle
Castellcir Castle or Popa Castle is shaped like a boat and is located in the Serrat de la Popa, in the municipality of Castellcir. The castle was built in 1014 to defend or guard the valley of the Castellcir-Tenes stream.
5 - The “Beso de la Muerte” Statue
“Beso de la Muerte” is the saddest and most terrifying sculpture in Barcelona and is located in the Poblenou cemetery. The sculpture depicts death in the form of a winged skeleton, planting a kiss on the forehead of a handsome young man. The sculpture evokes different responses in those who see it: either ecstasy on the young man's face or renunciation of life.
